Caught up with these guys on Conan’s Christmas Episode.

Some good Appalachian flavor with smart-as-whip lyrics. I’d give it a shot if I were you.

I’m not quite as in to the vinyl scene as our other newbying™ comrade, Chris. But I couldn’t let you guys waste your money by not shopping at Shockhound.com. Buy 2 get 1 free guys. Buy the gift that says, “You haven’t lived until you’ve heard FutureSexLoveSounds on a 45.”

I could be way behind the curve on this, but one of my favorite bands I discovered in college, Anathallo, has been hard at work on some new tunes. This video is proof/wonderful. I want this as my visualizer for itunes.

Myspace did a good deed for the world and reunited Ben Folds Five. Enjoy, I am.

Thanks Matt.

new copeland video.

Directed by Alex Eastwood. It’s a little slice of heaven.

The new Copeland album comes out a week from today, and I’m counting down the days. If you have a musical itch that needs scratching go lend an ear to the new tunes. If the rest of the record is anything like these number you can color me tickled.

Found some great records from yesterdecade.

It was a good day for 1996-1997.

I finally got to go record shopping this weekend and I picked up two very worthwhile titles:

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds – Dig, Lazarus Dig!!!
The attraction – best use of exclamation points.

Conor Oberst & The Mystic Valley Band – Self Titled
The attraction – great songwriting with a country flair and a voice that sounds like it’s a second from tears.

If you remember back in the days of Newbying 1.0 you’ll remember a few posts about one of my then new favorite bands, Bon Iver. These guys make lovely music and here is a wonderfully sporadic a capella rendition of “For Emma” for your enjoyment.
